World Science Festival returns
Science fanatics will be converging on Cobb & Co Museum in Toowoomba on Friday and Saturday 17 and 18 May for the free World Science Festival Queensland.
The two days of events kick off on Friday with the Schools Program, designed for primary and secondary students to engage in stimulating and inspiring experiences that showcase careers in STEM, including discussions with scientists, hands-on activities and exciting science shows.
Schools are required to register for this.
On Friday night, Battle of the Brains is taking place, featuring local singer Sue Ray, TV personality Michael Balk, Queensland Museum’s Crustaceans expert, Marissa McNamara and zoologist Jeff Johnson plus more for the region’s most entertaining game show.
It is being held at the Armitage Centre Auditorium and tickets are available for purchase.
The free Community Day returns on Saturday, 18 May and will feature a program packed with fascinating physical phenomena, energising sports science, real reptiles, engaging workshops and a showcase of Queensland Museum’s incredible collection.
It includes the CSIRO Investigate Science Exhibit, a self-contained immersive cinema exploring the abyss to uncover the mysteries of the deep, as well as presentations and activities from Engineers Australia, Webuild, Queensland Academy of Sport’s Athlete Testing, QUT Sports Tech and more.
