Years of service acknowledged prior to NAB Branch closur
With the local NAB Branch set to close permanently this week, the Pittsworth District Alliance presented employees Colleen Playford and Debbie Jones with gifts last Monday, in heartfelt appreciation of their commitment to the community, across decades.
Having spent over 33 continuous years at NAB Pittsworth, and 25 of those years as Branch Manager, many recognise Colleen Playford as the familiar face behind the counter, at 75 Yandilla Street.
Mrs Playford is also the current Branch Manager of the National Bank at Mundubbera.
She first started working for NAB in 1972.
Mrs Playford met her late husband John in 1979, who was also working for the National Bank in the Toowoomba Branch.
Since then, her family’s ties to NAB have only deepened, with their son Simon working part time for the bank while completing his law degree, and their daughter Jacinta and her husband, currently in NAB employment.
The local Branch is set to close next Thursday, and Mrs Playford is going on a well-earned break before making any decisions about her future.
In the meantime, the office has been slowly emptied, with most of the furniture being donated
to the Pittsworth Women’s Shed.
Volunteers from Moore’s Trailers were able to lend a hand to move the larger furniture items into Sondrio on 67, only a few doors down from the office.
PDA also gave employee Debbie Jones a gift for her time spent at the NAB branch.
Ms Jones will be transferring to Millmerran when the Pittsworth Branch closes next week.
