Young breeders farewell award winning Galloways
The Byrnes siblings Sarah (10) and Lachlan (8) have a budding passion for the agricultural industry - mainly the breeding of Belted and Miniature Galloways at their stud outside Pittsworth. The pair recently let go of their award winning Galloways Misty View Whirlwind and Misty View Tiana, who have found a new home entertaining guests at a wedding venue in Ravensbourne.
The Misty View Belted Galloways Stud is located on Stoneleigh Road just outside town.
Both Sarah and Lachlan have paraded the Galloways at the Pittsworth and Toowoomba Shows over the years.
Each of them won first in their class and went on to win Bull Calf Champion and Heifer Calf Champion at last year’s Toowoomba Royal Show.
The siblings have taken special care in bonding with the cattle from birth to ensure they are quiet and used to being handled.
“The kids have learnt how to safely work around animals and are growing in confidence with their skills,” proud mum, Laura said.
More recently the pair have started competing in the handlers competitions at local shows.
The Galloways are off to The Dairy, a wedding venue located at Ravensbourne, where it is expected they will receive plenty of pats from guests and feature in wedding photographs.
