Young local bull rider is USA bound
Flynn McInnes from Clifton is just 12 years old but he’s already demonstrated exceptional skills in his chosen sport.
His deep passion for bull riding was inspired by his older brother Cobey and about 18 months ago Flynn took to the saddle himself.
In his first season he placed 5th in the National Rodeo Association junior standings within just eight months.
This year he’s sitting 4th in Australia and has secured wins at Woodenbong, Ipswich and Tanduringie, among others.
Flynn’s effort doesn’t come easily - he has a dedicated training regime.
He trains daily on his drop barrel and spring barrel, works balance drills on the gym ball and stays fit and focussed with ice baths, saunas and sheer determination.
The trip to the United States is something Flynn is looking forward to, but it comes at a cost - something that will need help from the community.
Sponsorships are being offered to help defray his expenses.
A range of sponsorship opportunities is on offer for businesses, local organisations and individuals who may care to help get our local rodeo star across the Pacific and into the Bull Riders Final in Texas.
A Ruby sponsorship is $2500, gold is $1000 and Emerald $500.
Smaller donations will also be most welcome.

It’s a chance for our small community to get behind a determined young Australian who’s keen to make his mark on the world stage.
