Young Warriors up in lights
While the Warwick and District Junior Rugby League may be laid up in its mid-season recess, Wattles players are still in action showing their wares around the State.
The Coolum Rugby League Club played host to the annual Glyn Rees-Geoff Orman City Country Cultural Exchange over the past weekend attracting players from across Queensland.
Under 14 players connected with Wattles were Jack Burton, Orry Gilmore, Marty May, Henry McMillan, Jonte May, Will Peters, Angus McArthur and team trainer Glen McMillan as members of the Warwick and District Chargers.
Young Warriors Corey Gascoyne, Billy Peardon, Seth Esson, Ben Barbierato and Charlie Spina were members of the Doug Peardon coached Under 16 Chargers, with Adam May and Lachie Peardon as team officials.
Wattles junior players Jake Burns and Jack Harrigan are displaying their talents in Darling Downs colours at the Queensland Primary School Under 12 Championships in Gladstone, while in Brisbane we have Wattles junior and senior players giving their best at the annual Confraternity Shield Carnival representing Warwick’s Assumption College.
Those long standing traditions that are the Zone 5 - 10 Year Under 35 kg and Under 43 kg Junior Rugby League Development Carnivals are being hosted at Wynnum this week and next, and again, as always providing opportunity for many young players, including a lengthy line-up from Wattles.
