Federal Government to not go through with disastrous disaster funding rejig
The Federal Government announced last Friday that it would scrap the controversial, proposed changes to the disaster funding model, which many said would leave affected councils worse off.
Mayor Geoff McDonald and other regional Mayors railed against the controversial changes to the disaster funding scheme which would have seen a big shift in the financial burden toward councils.
