One year on from “The Storm”: Clifton still a town of tarps and scaffolds

On Sunday the 1st of November, exactly one year after the devastating hailstorm of November 2025, a storm warning came through for the Darling Downs with reports of strong winds and large hailstones. It sent shivers down the spines of plenty in Clifton, but a year on, there is still plenty of rebuilding to do.

Clifton is still dotted with tarpaulins, scaffolds and shattered solar panels. A year after the devastating November 1 hailstorm in 2025 from which the town is still rebuilding.
